Attariya clinches Arjun Trophy T20 title, defeats Dadeldhura by 34 runs

KATHMANDU: CYC Attariya emerged victorious in the Arjun Trophy National T20 Cricket Tournament, defeating Friends Youth Club Dadeldhura by 34 runs in the final on Monday.
With the title win, Attariya claimed a cash prize of Rs 1 million, while runners-up Dadeldhura received Rs 500,000.
Chasing a target of 119 runs, Dadeldhura fell short, managing only 84 runs.
Gajendra Bohara scored 24, Kushal Bhurtel contributed 20, and Ashok Dhami added 10 runs for Dadeldhura.
In the bowling department, Attariya’s Shahab Alam and Dipesh Kandel took three wickets each, while Kamal Gupta and Vivek Yadav bagged two wickets apiece.
Earlier, Attariya won the toss and opted to bat first at Fapla Cricket Ground, posting 118 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Rashid Khan top-scored with 31 runs, while skipper Santosh Karki and Shankar Rana chipped in with 20 runs each.
For Dadeldhura, Abhishek Gautam delivered an outstanding bowling performance, claiming four wickets for just 15 runs in his four-over spell.
Kushal Bhurtel and Abhishek Chauhan took one wicket each.
A total of eight teams participated in the tournament.
