Salyan festival fire: 80 stalls destroyed

KATHMANDU: A massive fire broke out at the second Grand Salyan Festival in Sharada Municipality, Srinagar Bazaar, on Saturday night.

According to the District Police Office, the fire started at around 11 PM.

The blaze completely destroyed around 80 stalls, causing damages worth millions, according to preliminary estimates.

The festival, organized by the National Folk and Dohori Foundation, suffered heavy losses, with traders bearing the brunt of the destruction.

Security forces, including Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Army, along with local residents, worked together to bring the fire under control.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
