KATHMANDU: Both houses of the Federal Parliament are set to convene today.
The House of Representatives will meet at 1 PM, while the National Assembly session is scheduled for 1:15 PM.
According to the parliamentary secretariat, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will present the 61st Annual Report of the Auditor General, 2081 during the session.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will propose the withdrawal of the Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Bill, 2081.
A proposal to allow the presentation of the Nepal Citizenship (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 will also be tabled, while Prem Suwal’s objection notice regarding the bill will be discussed.
Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak will seek approval to present the Nepal Citizenship (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081, the Nepal Police Bill, 2081, and the Armed Police Force, Nepal Bill, 2081.
Finance Minister Paudel will also propose discussions on the Banking Offense and Social (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080, along with the Finance Committee’s report.
Additionally, the Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee’s report on the Legislation Bill, 2080 will be presented for consideration. Law Minister Ajay Kumar Chaurasia will move a proposal for the passage of the Legislation Bill, 2081.
However, the government has once again excluded ordinances from today’s agenda.
Similarly, in the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present the ‘Semi-Annual Review Report on the Implementation of the Budget for the Fiscal Year 2081–82’ before the House.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, will table the ‘Social Media Bill-2081,’ while Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, will propose that the House consider the ‘Waterways (Operation and Management) Bill-2081,’ according to the Parliament Secretariat.
