Mother dies, two sons injured in Rolpa jeep accident

KATHMANDU: A mother lost her life while her two young sons were seriously injured in a jeep accident in Rolpa.
According to the District Police Office, 29-year-old Sita Khadka of Ghoreneta, Gangadev Rural Municipality, died in the crash.
Her sons, three-year-old Saurabh and 18-month-old Suprim Wali, sustained critical injuries. District Police Chief Bharat Lama informed that the injured children received primary treatment at the local Gairigaun Health Post in Tila before being referred to Rolpa District Hospital, Reugha.
Due to the severity of their condition, they were later transferred to Rapti Academy of Health Sciences in Ghorahi, Dang, for advanced medical care.
The accident occurred last evening at Tribeni Rural Municipality-7, Gaang, involving a Lu 1 Cha 9406 jeep.
Five people were onboard, including the driver, co-driver, Sita, and her two children.
Following the accident, the driver and co-driver fled the scene. Police have launched a search operation to locate them.
Sita was a teacher by profession.
