KATHMANDU: Bhaktapur’s farmlands are currently filled with blooming cauliflowers, as local farmers engage in harvesting.

The district is known for its high cauliflower production every year.

Farmers in Duwakot, Bhaktapur, are particularly busy picking cauliflowers and preparing them for the market.

According to farmer Bir Bahadur Tamang, most of the cauliflowers in his field weigh around 3 kilograms, while some grow as large as 8 to 9 kilograms.

As per today’s data from the Kalimati Fruits and Vegetable Market Development Committee, the price of locally grown cauliflower ranges from a minimum of Rs. 10 to a maximum of Rs. 15 per kilogram, with an average price of Rs. 12.33.

The price of cauliflower from the Terai region remains similar.

Meanwhile, the “Jyapu” variety of local cauliflower is priced higher, with a minimum of Rs. 15, a maximum of Rs. 18, and an average price of Rs. 16.67 per kilogram.
