10th National Games in Karnali to be held on time: Parliamentary committee
Initially scheduled for Nov 17-24, the games were postponed due to delays in infrastructure development.
KATHMANDU: The parliamentary committee has directed the government to ensure that the 10th National Games in Karnali Province take place as scheduled.
In a meeting held at Singha Durbar on Friday, the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee instructed the Ministry of Youth and Sports to complete all necessary preparations to host the event within the stipulated timeframe.
Committee Chairperson Ammar Bahadur Thapa emphasized the importance of timely execution and urged authorities to expedite the necessary processes. “Our priority is to conduct the games on schedule. The Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Finance must work under special pressure to ensure this. Identify the fast-track procedures and make all necessary arrangements to complete the event by the set deadline,” he stated.

The government later rescheduled the event for April 5.
Karnali Province was handed the flag to host the 10th National Games following the conclusion of the 9th edition in Pokhara.
