One dead, 5 injured in car accident on BP Highway

KATHMANDU: A private vehicle heading to Kathmandu met with an accident this morning at Golanjore Rural Municipality-5, Sindhuli along the BP Highway, resulting in one death and five injuries.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Govindaraj Kafle of the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Sushant Nepali, the driver of the vehicle, from Gaurishankar Rural Municipality, Dolakha.

Among the injured, 34-year-old Devi Limbu from Letang Municipality-2, Morang, is in critical condition and is receiving treatment at Sindhuli Hospital.

The other injured passengers include 53-year-old San Bahadur Tamang from Deumai Municipality-8, Ilam; 28-year-old Sweta Giri and 28-year-old Sanjay Rokka from Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-5, Kathmandu; and 27-year-old Kisku Mandal from Barhadashi Rural Municipality-1, Jhapa.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
