Bagmati Province sets ambulance fare rates

KATHMANDU: Bagmati Province’s Ministry of Health has determined new ambulance fare rates based on the National Ambulance Directive 2078.

The decision was made during a ministerial meeting on Jan 21, considering various criteria.

The ministry has officially informed ambulance management committees across all 13 districts.

According to the directive, the fare for ambulance services will be set between Rs 300 and 500 for distances ranging from one to five kilometers under the “Geographic Flag” system.

The rates have been structured based on road conditions, including paved, gravel, and dirt roads, in both Terai and hilly regions, as stated in an official letter issued by Dr. Khageshwar Gegal, Chief of the Medical Services Division.
