Ordinances to be presented in NA meeting today

KATHMANDU: The National Assembly meeting scheduled for today will present various ordinances issued by the Nepal government during the parliamentary recess for decision.
The meeting will commence at 1:15 PM.
With the ordinances set for decision, the ruling Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML have issued whips to their lawmakers, instructing them to be present and vote in favor.
According to UML Chief Whip Bhagwati Neupane, all party members have been directed to support the ordinances.
On Dec 29, President Ram Chandra Paudel issued an ordinance amending certain cooperative-related laws based on a recommendation from the Council of Ministers.
Subsequently, four more ordinances were issued on Jan 13, followed by another on Jan 15, bringing the total to six.
These ordinances have already been tabled in both houses of parliament.
The government’s push to pass these ordinances has garnered full support from the Congress and UML. With the ordinances set for a decision today, the parliamentary debate has taken on significant importance.
