NEPSE index declines slightly, trading volume nears Rs 9 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a slight decline today, dropping by 4.45 points to settle at 2,711.45.

A total of 309 companies traded 19.18 million shares across 90,752 transactions, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 8.95 billion.

Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. and Chhyangdi Hydropower Ltd. hit the positive circuit breaker, while Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. and Corporate Development Bank Ltd. faced a negative circuit.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd. recorded the highest turnover at Rs 337.6 million, while Sunrise Focused Equity Fund led in traded volume, with 809,190 shares changing hands.

Following today’s session, the total market capitalization stands at Rs 4.49 trillion.
