KATHMANDU: Nepal faced a crushing 10-wicket defeat against the Netherlands in the ongoing Tri-Nation Women’s T20 Series at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur today.

Batting first, Nepal posted 145/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Pooja Mahato was the top scorer with 62 runs off 51 balls, hitting five fours.

Captain Indu Barma contributed 39 runs off 37 balls with five boundaries. Rubina Chhetry added 20 runs from 17 balls before getting out, while Kavita Joshi remained unbeaten on 7.

For the Netherlands, Iris Willing took two wickets, while Caroline de Lange and Heather Siegers claimed one wicket each.

Chasing 146, the Netherlands comfortably reached the target in 19.4 overs without losing a wicket.

Star performer Sterre Kalis smashed an unbeaten 98 off 69 balls, striking 11 fours and two sixes.

Phoebe Molkenboer supported with an unbeaten 48 off 49 balls, hitting four boundaries.

With this loss, Nepal has now lost all three encounters against the Netherlands.

The Netherlands, with six points from five matches, stands second in the points table, while Nepal remains at the bottom without a single point.

Unbeaten Thailand continues to dominate the standings.

The Tri-Nation Series features Nepal, the Netherlands, and Thailand, with each team playing three matches against one another.
