Elderly man dies after falling off cliff

KATHMANDU: An elderly man lost his life after falling off a cliff while returning home after collecting his senior citizen allowance.

Chudamani Kapri, a 75-year-old resident of Kashikhola in Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality-4, fell to his death in the Seto Pahiro area of Ward No. 2, according to Inspector Navin Giri of the Arughat Area Police Office.

Kapri had gone to a bank in Dhyampesal to collect his pension on Sunday but did not return home.

Concerned family members and police launched a search, and his body was discovered about 250 meters below the road early Monday morning, Inspector Giri confirmed.

Police have completed the necessary legal procedures and handed over the body to the family for the final rites.
