KATHMANDU: Renowned Nepali film editor-turned-director Surendra Paudel has announced his fourth directorial venture, Barista Balaram.
The film was officially revealed on Monday, coinciding with Basanta Panchami and Saraswati Puja.
Written by Mahesh Dawadi, the film’s shooting is set to begin in the first week of Falgun.
The social drama will feature acclaimed actors Dayahang Rai and Bijay Baral in lead roles.
The production team has yet to reveal the female lead opposite Dayahang, with additional cast and crew details to be announced gradually.
A teaser revealing more actors will be released soon, while the film will be shot in various locations across the Terai region.
Baristha Balaram is being produced under the banner of Vrishabh Siddhi Entertainment and is slated for release in 2082 BS.
With high audience expectations, the makers believe the film’s socially relevant storyline will deliver both entertainment and a powerful message.
