KATHMANDU: The theme video of the upcoming Nepali movie Janai Harayeko Bahun has been released.
On the occasion of Saraswati Puja, lead actor Bijay Baral and the production team shared a short video featuring dialogues and a song on their social media early Monday.
The video features a sketch of two friends having a heartfelt conversation before parting ways. The dialogue goes:
“Sathi, are you leaving the village too?”
“Dreams don’t come true without leaving home, my friend!”
“When will you return?”
“I don’t know. Oh, listen! I couldn’t even look at my mother’s teary eyes while leaving. Sometimes, visit her on my behalf, will you?”
“You’ll probably forget us, won’t you?”
“And my friend, tell my mother—don’t grow old until I fulfill my dreams!”

Following this emotional exchange, the song begins:
“Hey Aama Ma, Kamayeara Gaun Nafrkidasamma, Timi Budi Nahunu Hai!”
The background narration in the video is voiced by actors Vijay Baral and Manish Raut, who is also the associate director. Alongside the release, the production team has announced an exciting offer for emerging singing talents.
Aspiring singers can record and post their version of the song’s final lines on TikTok.
One male and one female winner will be chosen to lend their voices to the official track, which will be featured in the film. The song is composed by Arjun Pokharel.
Janai Harayeko Bahun is being produced by Paperclip Pvt. Ltd. and directed by Himal Nyaupane, with Bijay Baral playing the lead role. The story, screenplay, and dialogues are penned by Bhanubhakta Dhakal.
The film revolves around an innocent man who moves to the city from his village, encountering unexpected challenges that transform his life.
The movie’s production team includes CR Basnet, Kamal Nyaupane, RK Manandhar, Bimal Nyaupane, Philip DC, and Nishant Shrestha.
Navin Gurung is the cinematographer, with Samrat Maharjan ‘Jack’ as the creative director and Mayank Niraula as the VFX supervisor.
The filming is set to begin by the end of this year, with the movie expected to hit theaters in 2082 BS.
