KATHMANDU: Thailand secured a 17-run victory over the Netherlands in the ongoing Women’s T20 series at the TU Ground in Kirtipur.

Captain Babette de Leede top-scored with 25, while Iris Willing and Caroline de Lange contributed 13 and 10 runs, respectively.
Earlier, Thailand, opting to bat first after losing the toss, managed 86 runs in 19.5 overs. Chanida Sutthiruang led the scoring with 27, while Phannita Maya added 12.
For the Netherlands, Iris Willing, Eva Lynch, and Silver Siegers claimed two wickets each, while Isabel van der Waal took one.
This was the Netherlands’ second consecutive defeat against Thailand. In their previous encounter, Thailand had secured a dominant eight-wicket win.
Each team in the series will play three matches against every opponent, with the table-toppers being crowned champions. Nepal is set to face Thailand tomorrow.
