Football fan killed in Ghanaian league clash

ACCRA: A football fan has been stabbed to death in a Ghana Premier League match in the Bono Region, an official statement from local club Asante Kotoko confirmed Sunday.

The incident occurred during a match between Nsoatreman and Asante Kotoko when a violent clash ensued.

“Tragically, one of our supporters who was stabbed to death during the violence has succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. This senseless loss of life is devastating, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the entire Asante Kotoko fraternity,” the statement said.

The Ghana Football Association and the home team have yet to issue any official statement on the incident.
