NEPSE sees slight increase, trading volume reaches Rs 11.87 billion
A total of 317 companies traded 23.77 million shares in 111,918 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 11.87 billion.
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which had surged significantly on the first trading day of the week, recorded only a slight increase today. The NEPSE index rose by 2.41 points, closing at 2,730 points.
A total of 317 companies traded 23.77 million shares in 111,918 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 11.87 billion.
Among sectoral indices, Banking increased by 0.54%, Life Insurance by 0.67%, Manufacturing & Processing by 0.27%, Microfinance by 0.10%, Mutual Funds by 0.78%, Non-Life Insurance by 0.82%, and Trading by 0.79%. However, all other sectors declined.
Development Bank fell by 0.39%, Finance by 1.07%, Hotels & Tourism by 0.01%, Hydropower by 0.48%, and Investment by 0.47%.
Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. and Bhugol Energy Company Ltd. hit the positive circuit breaker, while Green Development Bank and River Falls Power Ltd. faced negative circuit breakers.
In terms of transaction value, NRN Infrastructure & Development Ltd. recorded the highest turnover at Rs 353 million.
In terms of traded volume, Barun Hydropower Company Ltd. led with 634,620 shares exchanged.
