KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has called for a Central Committee meeting in Kathmandu on Feb 20 and 21.

The meeting will focus on strengthening the party’s organization, reviewing activities at the ward level, discussing current political issues, and deciding on unity with left-wing forces and alliances with ideologically similar parties.

The previously scheduled convention for Feb 12 has been postponed, with the new dates confirmed by the party’s central publicity department head, Prakash Jwala.

The meeting will also discuss constitutional amendments, corruption, issues related to public livelihood, and potential cooperation with opposition parties.

A review of progress in geographical responsibilities assigned to party leaders will be part of the discussions.

Further, decisions will be made regarding the progress of mass-based organizations and their conventions.

Ahead of the Central Committee meeting, the Secretariat, Standing Committee, and Politburo will approve political, economic, and organizational reports, with the Standing Committee finalizing the agenda and work schedule.
