Police Club wins Tiger Cup Volleyball title in Pokhara

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Club clinched the Tiger Cup Volleyball title in Pokhara, defeating Gandaki Province in the final match today.

Organized by the ‘Tiger Group of Pokhara,’ the national and international men’s and women’s volleyball tournament concluded with Police Club emerging as the champions.

In the final held at Pokhara Stadium, Police Club secured a 3-1 victory over Gandaki Province.

Police Club won the first, second, and fourth sets with scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-22, respectively. Gandaki managed to take the third set with a 25-20 win.

With the victory, Police Club received a cash prize of Rs 585,555, along with a trophy and medals. Runners-up Gandaki Province were awarded Rs 285,555.

Tiger group claims Women’s title

In the women’s category, host team Tiger Group claimed the title, defeating the departmental team APF Club in a thrilling 3-2 final.

Tiger Group lost the first set 17-25 but made a strong comeback, winning the second set 29-27.

APF took the third set 25-21, but the hosts bounced back to win the fourth set 25-16. In a nail-biting final set, Tiger Group secured a 15-13 victory to lift the trophy.

As champions, Tiger Group bagged Rs 585,555, while runners-up APF Club received Rs 285,555.
