KATHMANDU: Protesters have enforced a transport shutdown in eastern Nepal, demanding the cancellation of the proposed cable car project in Pathibhara, Taplejung.
The strike has been called by the Mukkumlung Conservation and Cable Car Cancellation Struggle Committee, along with various political parties and organizations.
Transportation has been completely halted in Sunsari, while several areas in Morang, Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, Dhankuta, Tehrathum, and Sankhuwasabha have also been affected.
Protesters have taken to the streets, causing disruptions in daily life.
