19 bodies found on vessel near Caribbean nation of St. Kitts and Nevis

MEXICO CITY: Nineteen bodies were found on a drifting vessel off the coast of the eastern Caribbean nation of St. Kitts and Nevis, local media said on Friday.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard received a report at midday on Wednesday about a vessel drifting off the coast of Nevis. They towed the boat back for further investigation.

Local police said on Wednesday evening that the bodies were so badly decomposed that their gender, nationality, and cause of death could not yet be determined.

Investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
