Congress leader found dead on roadside
The cause of death remains unknown.
KATHMANDU: Achyut Kalauni, the municipal president of the Nepali Congress in Bhimdatta Municipality, was found dead on a roadside on Saturday morning.
According to SP Chakra Raj Joshi of the District Police Office, Kalauni’s body was discovered face down about 100 meters west of Ward Office-18. “There are no visible injuries on his body. We have begun an investigation,” he said.
Kalauni’s residence is around 500 meters from the incident site. Police have sealed off the area and called in a medical team for examination.
The cause of death remains unknown.
Kalauni transitioned from student politics in the Nepal Student Union to mainstream politics in the Nepali Congress.
He had previously served as the union’s central deputy general secretary and was also the chairperson of Baijanath Secondary School’s management committee in Mahendranagar.
