Rabi files petition to lift MP suspension (full text)

KATHMANDU: President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has submitted a petition to lift his suspension as a Member of Parliament (MP).

Lamichhane met with Speaker Devraj Ghimire and formally requested the revocation of his suspension.

According to his secretariat, he argued that the suspension was unlawful and against the House of Representatives regulations.

The former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister was suspended from his parliamentary position after a case was filed against him over alleged embezzlement and misuse of cooperative funds.
