KATHMANDU: The teaser of the much-awaited film Laaj Sharanam has been officially released.
The production team unveiled the teaser today via YouTube, featuring most of the film’s key characters.
The teaser opens with a father praying for his son’s safe journey abroad for foreign employment. However, the story takes a tragic turn when the son returns in a coffin, leading to intense emotional turmoil.
Amidst the grief, the teaser hints at an unexpected twist, though it remains unclear. The narrative progresses with the son’s return, followed by a dramatic river rescue and conflict.
The teaser suggests that the film highlights the struggles of poverty and unemployment. Stunning cinematography and breathtaking locations add visual appeal, while long shots enhance the teaser’s beauty.
Laaj Sharanam is created by the team behind the popular comedy series Sakkigoni. From writers to lead actors and the director, the film features the Sakkigoni crew.
The film stars Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus), Mukunda Shrestha, Mahesh Tripathi, Vijay Baral, Aparna Thapa, Renu Yogi, Vijay Lama, Mala Limbu, and Sakkigoni actors Arjun Ghimire (Padey), Sagar Lamsal (Bale), Harish Niraula (Cockroach), Priyana Acharya (Munni), and Kamalmani Nepal (Khupika Bau), among others.
Directed by Kumar Kattel ‘Jigri Bro’, Laaj Sharanam is set to release on Feb 26, coinciding with Maha Shivaratri.
Produced under the banner of JPT Creations, the film is backed by producer Navin Shrestha, with Ram Naresh Shah and Srijana Khadka as co-producers.
Cinematographer Sudeep Baral has handled the film’s visuals.
