Budha Subba Gold Cup: Preparations ends

KATHMANDU: Dharan Football Club has announced the completion of preparations for the Budha Subba Gold Cup, which is set to kick off this Saturday at Dharan Stadium.

The tournament will feature eight teams, including RTC Football Club from Bhutan and UKFC from India.
Additionally, Nepal’s A Division clubs such as Church Boys United, Nepal Police Club, and NRT Club will participate.
Local teams like Dharan Football Club (host), Raja Club Itahari, and Kakadvitta Football Training Center will also compete.
Marking the 25th edition of the tournament, the opening ceremony will be a grand affair, featuring a school march-past, a special dance performance by an 80-member group, and the cutting of a 5-pound cake, according to Club President Pratap Tamang.
The inaugural match will see Church Boys United Kathmandu face Nepal Police Club Kathmandu. The tournament will run from Magh 19 to 26 at Dharan Stadium.
The first prize of NPR 1 million is sponsored by Dharan Bahrain Ekata Samaj and Dharan Samaj UK, while the runner-up will receive NPR 500,000, sponsored by club well-wisher Arun Rai from Portugal.
Furthermore, the Man of the Match for each game will be sponsored by Mount Everest Training Center, Dharan.
The Best Player award is sponsored by Kendra Limbu from Portugal, and seven category-wise best players will be sponsored by the Kelme brand.
