Opposition parties to prioritize livelihood issues in parliament

KATHMANDU: Opposition parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre), have decided to prioritize livelihood concerns during the upcoming parliamentary session.
In a meeting held today at Singha Durbar, the opposition parties resolved to present a united front in Parliament to address issues such as inflation, corruption control, and good governance. Maoist Centre’s chief whip, Hitraj Pandey, confirmed the decision.
Pandey also stated that despite having a majority in Parliament, the government’s issuance of ordinances was deemed a wrong move.
The federal parliament’s session will begin this Friday.
The meeting was attended by Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, acting president of the National Independent Party Dol Prasad Aryal, Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal, President of Nepal Socialist Party Mahindra Rai Yadav, and National People’s Front Chair Chitra Bahadur KC.
