T20 Series opener: Netherlands sets 158-run target for Nepal

KATHMANDU: Robin Rijke’s half-century powered the Netherlands to a strong total of 157/4 against Nepal in the opening match of the Tri-Nation T20I Series at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

Opting to bat first after losing the toss, the visitors put up a solid batting display.

Rijke led the charge with a crucial 59 off 48 balls, smashing eight boundaries.

Sterre Kalis contributed 29, while Heather Siegers added 23.

Iris Zwilling provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 31 off just 13 balls, hitting five fours.

For Nepal, Kavita Kunwar, Pooja Mahato, Ishwari Bist, and Sita Rana Magar picked up a wicket each.

Nepal now faces a challenging target of 158 to secure victory.
