Manisha Koirala appointed goodwill ambassador for HPV vaccination campaign
Speaking at an event organized by the ministry, Health Minister Pradeep Paudel stated that the campaign has been launched to expand HPV vaccination nationwide.
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has appointed actress Manisha Koirala as the goodwill ambassador for the national immunization program and the HPV vaccination campaign.
Speaking at an event organized by the ministry, Health Minister Pradeep Paudel stated that the campaign has been launched to expand HPV vaccination nationwide.
He announced that the government will provide the vaccine to 1.6 million girls aged 10 to 14 across Nepal.
Schools will serve as vaccination centers, with the vaccine being administered to students from grades 6 to 10.
Those unable to receive the vaccine at school will have access to it at local ward offices.
Minister Paudel also confirmed that Koirala will continue as the goodwill ambassador for all vaccination campaigns over the next three years.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to making Nepal cancer-free by strengthening both preventive and curative healthcare efforts.
Expressing her excitement, actress Koirala said she was honored to be part of the campaign and highlighted the importance of HPV vaccination.
The government is set to launch the HPV vaccination campaign on Feb 4.
