KATHMANDU: A fire broke out on a passenger aircraft at Gimhae International Airport in Busan, South Korea, on Tuesday, causing panic as passengers and crew rushed to evacuate.

According to fire officials, the blaze started in the tail section of an Air Busan aircraft preparing for takeoff to Hong Kong.

The incident occurred before departure at the airport, located about 320 kilometers southeast of Seoul.

All 169 passengers and seven crew members were safely evacuated, though three people sustained injuries.

Yonhap reported that the fire, which began in the tail, spread to the fuselage before being fully extinguished by firefighters.
