Four held in Dharan for illegal sale of controlled drugs
The police seized 2,000 capsules of Tramadol and 7,930 tablets of Spasmo Proxyvon from their possession.
KATHMANDU: Dharan police have arrested two couples in connection with the illegal sale of controlled pharmaceutical drugs.
Acting on a tip-off about narcotics being sold at a medical shop, a team from the Area Police Office, Dharan, raided a pharmacy in Ward No. 3, Gaudhara.
During the search, officers discovered a stash of drugs concealed in cartons and apprehended 41-year-old Suraj Banem and his wife, 42-year-old Timpal Shrestha.
The police seized 2,000 capsules of Tramadol and 7,930 tablets of Spasmo Proxyvon from their possession.
Investigations have confirmed that the couple were operating the pharmacy.
Similarly, in Ward No. 8, another couple was caught with a cache of controlled drugs.
Following a separate tip-off, a police team from the Ward Police Office, Dharan, searched the residence of 31-year-old Santosh Pariyar and his 20-year-old wife, Anushka Shrestha.
They were found in possession of 532 capsules of Tramadol and 528 tablets of Spasmo Proxyvon, hidden in their kitchen.
The arrested individuals are currently under further investigation at the Area Police Office, Dharan.
