SC issues ‘other’ order in Bechan Jha case

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an ‘other’ order in the case involving Bechan Jha, who is in custody over the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

A bench comprising Justices Saranga Subedi and Nityananda Pandey issued the order on Sunday, responding to a writ petition filed by Jha.

He had challenged the decision to keep him in custody for trial and sought its annulment.

During the hearing, the bench directed authorities to summon related documents.

Jha is accused of leveraging connections at high political levels in the fake Bhutanese refugee case.
