KATHMANDU: The Ashok Rai-led Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has decided to hold its Federal Council meeting in Kathmandu this March.

The decision was made during the party’s second Central Committee meeting, which concluded on Sunday in Birgunj.

Party General Secretary Mohammad Istiyak Rai revealed that the meeting unanimously approved Chairman Rai’s political report.

It also endorsed an organizational report to finalize district and provincial committees.

According to General Secretary Rai, the party aims to complete its organizational framework before hosting the Federal Council meeting.

Discussions were also held on constitutional amendments and contemporary political issues.

“The second Central Committee meeting of JSP has successfully concluded,” Rai stated. “We approved the political report, organizational proposals, and plans for the Federal Council meeting in March. The meeting also resolved to complete pending district and provincial committees beforehand. Additionally, discussions covered constitutional amendments, current political agendas, and the unification of smaller political parties.”

The meeting also emphasized unity among Madhesh-based parties, recognizing the need for collective efforts to advance their shared goals.
