Preparations for Backyard Ultra Nepal Championship over
The player who fails to cross the determined distance within one hour would be automatically out from the championship.
KATHMANDU: Preparations for the Backyard Ultra Nepal Championship of international standard has been over. It is going to be organized for the first time in Nepal.
Although it is like marathon, it is new for Nepal. Fit Nepal is organising the event on Jan 26, said Chairperson of Fit Nepal, Rajeev Shrestha.
At a press meet organized by Fit Nepal today, Shrestha shared that the championship would start from Sumeru Jungle Resort at Gundu of Bhaktapur at 8:00 am on Saturday and conclude after reaching the same place going through various places including Suryabinayak Ganesh Temple, Pilot Baba Ashram, and Chhedo of Gundu.
Backyard Ultra Nepal Championship would be of 7.7 kilometers. Though this game seems like marathon, its rules are different from marathon, he mentioned. The player should cross the determined distance within one hour.
The player who fails to cross the determined distance within one hour would be automatically out from the championship.
Similarly, the player who crosses 24 loops or rings would be announced winner. The winner would be awarded with Rs 100,000 prize and certificate.
Likewise, a six-kilometer fun run would also be organized under the championship the same day. The winner of this championship would get Rs 3,000 and gift vouchers.
Even for the children under 13, the Fit Nepal also organizing a two-kilometer ‘fit family run’. The children competing in this race have to take guardians above 18 years as a friend.
The winner would get Rs 2,000 and gift vouchers, added Shrestha.
