Fire destroys 3 houses in Gorkha
The fire claimed the lives of eight cows and three bulls that were on the ground floor.
KATHMANDU: A fire in Gorkha district has destroyed three houses, including two mud houses covered with zinc and one built after the earthquake, in Taju, Kunsang, Chumanuwri Rural Municipality-6, Gorkha.
Police Inspector Dhurba Sharma of the District Police Office, Gorkha, reported that the blaze started around 8 PM on Thursday, ignited by a gas stove used for cooking.
The fire claimed the lives of eight cows and three bulls that were on the ground floor.
Other items, including clothes, food supplies, and utensils, were also destroyed.
The fire, which originated from one house, quickly spread to two neighboring homes.
A police team from the Chumchet police station reached promptly, and with the help of locals, the fire was brought under control.
Fortunately, no human lives were lost in the incident.
The District Police Office in Gorkha has confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.
