KATHMANDU: Manchester United edged past Rangers 2-1 in a thrilling Europa League clash on Thursday, courtesy of a last-gasp goal by captain Bruno Fernandes in injury time.

United took the lead in the 52nd minute when Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland scored an unfortunate own goal.

However, Rangers fought back with an equalizer in the 88th minute, thanks to Cyriel Dessers’ crucial strike.

Despite the late comeback, Fernandes delivered the decisive blow in the second minute of injury time, ensuring all three points for United.

With this victory, Manchester United climbed to fourth place in the standings with 15 points, while Rangers remain in 13th place with 11 points.
