Youth leader urges PM Oli for strict regulation of social media
Safal expressed concerns over social media's role in disrupting societal harmony, spreading obscenity, and encouraging criminal activities.
KATHMANDU: Youth leader Yuvraj Safal has sent a letter to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, demanding immediate and stringent measures to regulate and control social media platforms.
Safal expressed concerns over social media’s role in disrupting societal harmony, spreading obscenity, and encouraging criminal activities.
He urged the government to take concrete steps to address these issues promptly.
In his letter, Safal highlighted the widespread use of platforms like Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Popo, Bigo, Telegram, and WhatsApp, stressing the lack of effective regulation and control.
He also warned that if the government fails to take strict actions for social media regulation, he would file a writ petition in the Supreme Court to initiate legal proceedings.
