Judge questioned by govt lawyers over releasing Rabi to family custody

KATHMANDU: The detention hearing of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane is ongoing in the Rupandehi District Court.

The hearing is being conducted in the bench of Judge Prahlad Kumar Yogi.

However, government lawyers have raised questions regarding Judge Yogi during the proceedings.

They criticized the judge for releasing defendants under family custody during a detention hearing in a previous case, demanding that he recuse himself from the current case.

Despite these demands, Judge Yogi remained firm in his decision not to withdraw from the case.

As a result, the detention hearing has proceeded under his oversight.
