KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has expressed sorrow over the train accident that occurred in Maharashtra, India, on Wednesday.

Through a social media post, she shared her grief upon learning about the loss of lives of both Nepali and Indian nationals in the incident.

Minister Dr. Rana extended her heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and paid tribute to those who lost their lives. She also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Earlier today, Minister Rana contacted the Nepali Ambassador to India and the Indian Ambassador to Nepal.

She urged them to coordinate closely with the Indian government and relevant authorities to ensure swift rescue efforts and medical treatment for the injured.

The accident, which took place last night in Maharashtra, claimed the lives of 11 individuals, including four Nepali nationals.
