Aktor: Take One announces acting contest; winner to star in a movie

KATHMANDU: The upcoming Nepali film Aktor: Take One, set to release on Jan 29 (Magh 16), has announced an exciting acting contest, offering an ambitious opportunity for aspiring actors.

The winner will secure a role in the next film by Adhrit Films Pvt. Ltd., the production company behind Aktor: Take One.

This contest is open to Nepalis worldwide. Participants must create a video of at least one minute, featuring any part of the teaser, trailer, or songs from Aktor: Take One, and post it on their social media. While posting, they need to tag the movie’s official handles—Facebook: @aktornepalifilm, Instagram: @aktorthefilm, TikTok: @aktornepalifilm—and include the hashtag #AKTORMAGH16.

An internal creative team of the film will evaluate the videos to select the winner, who will be announced by the movie’s lead actor, Pradeep Khadka. The contest runs until February 12 (Magh 30), the second week after the film’s release.

The movie team, which has received an overwhelming response to the recently released trailer, aims to provide opportunities to new and talented aspiring actors. The trailer has already surpassed 2.5 million views on YouTube and is trending at the top in Nepal.

Directed by Rajan Bhusal, Aktor: Take One stars Pradeep Khadka, Anna Sharma, Divya Rayamajhi, Raj Ballav Koirala, Divya Dev, Srijana Adhikari, Usha Rajak, and Sushil Sitaula in key roles. The screenplay was written by Akash Baral and Rajan Bhusal.

The film is a joint presentation of Adhrit Films and A Moti Films, with Thaman Kumar Bhandari as the producer, Moti Karki as the creative producer, and Anish Bhusal as the co-producer.
