Real Madrid crush Salzburg 5-1 in Champions League victory

KATHMANDU: Defending champions Real Madrid secured an emphatic 5-1 win over Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Rodrygo and Vinícius Júnior each scored twice, while Kylian Mbappé added one goal to seal the dominant performance.

Rodrygo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute and doubled Madrid’s lead in the 34th minute, giving the team a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

Mbappé extended the lead in the 48th minute, followed by goals from Júnior in the 55th and 77th minutes, solidifying a commanding lead.

Salzburg’s Bidstrup managed a consolation goal five minutes before the final whistle.

With 12 points from 7 matches, Real Madrid currently sits in 16th place.
