Rabi Lamichhane’s statement concludes at Rupandehi District Court

KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former Home Minister, has completed his statement at the Rupandehi District Court regarding his alleged involvement in the Supreme Cooperative fraud case.
The statement was recorded on Wednesday in the bench of Judge Pralhad Kumar Yogi, according to court information officer Ananta Raj Marasini.
However, the detention hearing will not proceed today.
Lamichhane appeared in court following a case filed against him and 21 others in connection with the scam.
On Sunday, supplementary charges were filed at the Rupandehi District Court, accusing 22 individuals of embezzling Rs 555.9 million. Lamichhane traveled to Rupandehi from Kathmandu on Tuesday to participate in the proceedings.
Previously, Lamichhane faced charges in similar cases.
He was released on bail of Rs 6.5 million in the Suryadarshan Cooperative case at Kaski District Court and later paid Rs 6 million in bail for a separate embezzlement case linked to Swarnalaxmi Cooperative in Kathmandu.
