KATHMANDU: Nepal has been knocked out of the ICC Women’s U-19 World Cup after a loss to Australia in their final group-stage match.

Captain Pooja Mahato was the top scorer with 18 runs, while Alishakumari Yadav scored 9 and Sana Praveen made 8 runs.

Savitri Dhami contributed 7 runs, and Simana KC scored 6.

Trishna BK and Riya Sharma managed just 1 run each, while Jyotsika Marasini, Krishma Gurung, and Rachana Chaudhary were dismissed for ducks.

Australia’s bowlers, Hasrat Gill, Juliet Morton, and Lilly, each took 2 wickets, while Chloe Ainsworth claimed 1 wicket.

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, Australia scored 139 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
