Nabil Bank distributes blankets in Jajarkot & Rukum West

KATHMANDU: Nabil Bank has distributed blankets to earthquake-affected families in Jajarkot and Rukum West.

The distribution program was held on Jan 15 in Nalgad-1, in the presence of Ward Chairperson Dhan Bahadur Mahara, and on Jan 16 in Chaurjahari-1, in the presence of Ward Chairperson Indre Giri.
“Recognizing the challenges faced by vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and postpartum mothers during the winter, the bank took the initiative to distribute blankets to mitigate health risks associated with the cold,” said Manoj Gyawali, Senior Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Nabil Bank.
Nabil Bank had constructed 47 temporary shelters in Nalgad Municipality-1, Jajarkot, and 49 shelters in Chaurjahari Municipality-1, Rukum West in partnership with the local government for the earthquake victims under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. According to the bank, blankets were distributed to the families residing in temporary shelters.
On the occasion, Chairperson Mahara of Nalgad-1 and Chairperson Giri of Chaurjahari-1 expressed their gratitude to Nabil Bank for providing safe temporary shelters and distributing blankets to protect the earthquake victims from the harsh winter conditions.
On Nov 3, 2023, a 6.4-magnitude earthquake with its epicenter in Ramidanda, Barekot Rural Municipality-1, Jajarkot, caused significant destruction in Jajarkot and Rukum West. Nabil Bank has been actively involved in various social initiatives aimed at driving positive change in society under its CSR efforts. The bank has affirmed its commitment to continuing programs for the overall improvement of the community in the future.
