KATHMANDU: Liverpool secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 after maintaining their unbeaten record with a 2-1 victory over French side Lille on Tuesday.
In a thrilling match at Anfield, Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott scored one goal each for Liverpool, while Lille’s Jonathan David netted a consolation goal.

Lille faced a setback in the 59th minute when Isa Mandi received a red card, reducing them to 10 men.
Despite the disadvantage, David equalized for Lille in the 62nd minute.
However, Liverpool reclaimed their lead just five minutes later, with Elliott scoring the decisive goal in the 67th minute, ensuring the Reds’ unbeaten run continued in the tournament.
