Nepal, India ink landmark pact to boost automotive skill development
NADA President Karan Chaudhary, ASDC CEO Arindam Lahiri, and ACMA Director General Vinnie Mehta signed the agreement.
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA), the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC), and the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) signed a landmark tripartite agreement in New Delhi, India.
NADA President Karan Chaudhary, ASDC CEO Arindam Lahiri, and ACMA Director General Vinnie Mehta signed the agreement.
The agreement outlines four key areas of collaboration to enhance the automotive manufacturing and dealership sectors in Nepal through skill development initiatives.
Key highlights of agreement:
- The agreement establishes a framework for collaborative partnerships among ASDC, NADA, and ACMA, aimed at enhancing skills in Nepal’s automotive industry. It will provide training programs for trainers, assessors, and NADA members to support skill development in the automotive manufacturing and dealership sectors.
- Recognizing the automotive industry as a significant generator of direct and indirect employment, the collaboration aims to bridge gaps in training quality and capacity, thereby accelerating the sector’s growth.
- The three parties will work together to strengthen infrastructure and develop trainers and assessors to meet the demands of Nepal’s automotive industry.
- Leveraging its expertise in curriculum development, training delivery, and evaluation mechanisms, ASDC will collaborate with ACMA to benefit Nepal’s automotive sector.
NADA emphasized its belief that this historic agreement marks a milestone in strengthening Nepal-India ties and will play a transformative role in skill development for Nepal’s automotive industry.
The agreement was signed during the India Mobility exhibition, which is taking place in New Delhi from Jan 17 to 21.
The exhibition also features a delegation from NADA, led by its President Karan Chaudhary, and comprising members of the NADA central executive committee.

- From ASDC: President F.R. Singhvi, Vice President Vinkesh Gulati, and Project Coordinator Nitish Kumar Chaurasia.
- From ACMA: President Shradha Suri Marwah, Vice President Vikrampati Singhania, and Ritu Nch Gupta.
- From NADA: Immediate Past President Dr. Dhruva Thapa, Senior Vice President Akash Golchha, Vice President Rajan Babu Shrestha, and General Secretary Surendra Kumar Upreti.
