Western winds & low-pressure system affecting weather across Nepal
Currently, hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim are experiencing partly cloudy skies, while most other areas enjoy clear weather.
KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported the influence of a western wind system across Nepal, with a partial impact of a western low-pressure system in the Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Currently, hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim are experiencing partly cloudy skies, while most other areas enjoy clear weather.
Some parts of the Terai are witnessing foggy conditions.
During the day, hilly areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are expected to see partial to moderate cloud cover, with predominantly clear weather elsewhere.
Light snowfall is likely at a few locations in the higher hills and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
At night, similar conditions are predicted, with partly to moderately cloudy skies in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim, and mostly clear weather in other areas.
Morning fog and mist are expected in many parts of the Terai and Kathmandu Valley, which may affect daily life, agriculture, health, transportation, and air travel.
The division has urged the public to take necessary precautions.
