KATHMANDU: Madhesh Province’s Minister for Health and Population, Shatrudhan Prasad Singh, was injured in a collision between two government vehicles on Monday night.

The accident occurred at around 9:30 PM near Ramananda Chowk.

A vehicle (Province 03-001-Jha-0096) collided with Minister Singh’s vehicle (Madhesh Province 02-001-Jha-0165).

The injured minister is receiving treatment at the Provincial Hospital. The driver and a security personnel in his vehicle were also injured.

Madhesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh visited the hospital to check on Minister Singh and expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery.

The Chief Minister assured that the minister’s condition is stable and announced that a police investigation team, led by DSP, has been formed to probe the incident.

According to DSP Barun Bahadur Singh, the vehicle that hit the minister’s car belongs to the Water Supply Division Office, Parsa. He confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. “The condition of Minister Singh and the two others is stable,” said the DSP. However, doctors treating the minister revealed he suffered a spinal injury.

The front portion of the minister’s vehicle sustained significant damage, according to SP Tiwari.
