Man held for murder after brick kiln brawl

KATHMANDU: A 40-year-old man, Nishthuri Kewat, originally from Jungle-6, Gorakhpur, India, was allegedly murdered following a brawl at New Kamana Brick Kiln in Hiraganj, Siyari Rural Municipality-7, Rupandehi.

Police arrested 24-year-old Krishna Kewat of Siyari-6, Bardahwa, on Thursday night in connection with the crime.

According to authorities, a dispute between the two escalated into a physical altercation, leaving Nishthuri critically injured.

He was rushed to Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The arrest was made after officers from the Chhapiya Area Police Office were dispatched upon receiving reports of the incident.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.
