Foreign tourist who fell off cliff rescued

KATHMANDU: A 41-year-old German tourist, Michael Heinrich, fell off a cliff while returning from a visit to Everest Base Camp.

Heinrich lost his way on the route to Lukla and accidentally strayed onto an old mule track, where he slipped and fell into a cliff near a jungle area between Toktok and Banker.

A rescue team led by Assistant Police Inspector Bahadur Khadka successfully located and rescued him, according to DSP Dwarika Prasad Ghimire of the Solukhumbu District Police Office.

DSP Ghimire confirmed that Heinrich’s condition is currently stable.
