Heavy snowfall in Humla

KATHMANDU: Snowfall started today in Simkot, the district headquarters of Humla.

Snowfall began early this morning in the northern Namkha Rural Municipality and other high-altitude areas.

In Simkot, snow has accumulated up to an inch, as reported by Laxmi Rokaya from Simkot Municipality-6.

Paljor Tamang, the ward chairperson of Limi in Namkha Rural Municipality, informed that snowfall is occurring in all wards of the municipality. In Limi, snow has accumulated over two inches.

The snowfall continues without interruption, with heavy snow falling in the high Himalayan regions of Nyalu, Nara, and Lapcha.

This marks the fifth snowfall of the season in the district.

The first snowfall of the year occurred on Nov 26.
